Working with the Novice Counselor $40

This interactive workshop will cover a myriad of topics regarding the supervision of and working with the novice (or new) counselor. There will be several talking points, to include the following: supervisory responsibilities; contributing factors to being considered a ‘good’ supervisor; contributing factors to being considered a ‘bad’ supervisor; different theories/methodologies used in supervision; the supervisory relationship and critical incidents that occur as a part of supervision, especially when working with a new counselor.

Objectives - upon completion, participants should be able to:

1.      List at least two supervisory responsibilities;

2.      List and discuss at least three contributing factors in being a ‘good’ supervisor

3.      List and discuss at least three contributing factors in being a ‘bad’ supervisor

4.      List and discuss at least two methodologies used in the supervisory process

5.      List and discuss at least two factors in the supervisory process

6.      List at least three possible critical incidents that may occur when working with a new/novice counselor

3 hours CE credit for LPC, LPC-S, LMFT, LMTF-S and contact hours for social workers. Certificates will be awarded via email or at the end of the workshop. Payment may be made via PayPal - Square is available at the workshop for card swipes as well
